Each person is unique. Parents or grandparents who have an interesting personal history (especially school life) are invited to share their story with the students. Please contact me if you would like to give a brief presentation to the first graders.

This unit allows students to explore the concepts of history and time to understand that our lives are made up of daily routines and events that in the course of time become our history. In this unit students will investigate the history of our school (how and why it was founded, what changes it underwent and how it effects our community).

- make timelines to understand the sequence of events in order;
- sort objects to distinguish between past, present and predict what those objects will look like in the future;
- use days, weeks, months and years as intervals of time;
- learn to ask questions to gather information (interview) ;
- explore the concept of change.
